A fantastic Meeting

That being said, Saturday was truly a great day for Tina and I. As you know, we travel the United States in an 18 wheeler, wrapped in a vinyl wrap and designed to promote the 9-12 project. We meet and speak with a lot of people across this great nation. Our goal, when we decorated our truck this way, was to promote and raise awareness to the idea that we are not alone, we are one as long as we are united and to bring us back to the feeling we all had on 9-12. That feeling of unity, that feeling of...NO-ONE ATTACKS AMERICA and gets away with such an act of terror. We can fight amongst ourselves but don't you come in from outside the family and attack us this way. I won't go so far as to believe all of America is awake but I will say that She is coming alive. As we travel we pass out pocket constitutions, copies of Glenn Beck's "Common Sense" and a lot of information, confirmed truths, about our government and what that they are doing to destroy our nation and our Democratic Replublic form of government. We are promoting the Taxpayer revolt on DC on September 12, 2009, by passing out information on that event and the response to that has been amazing.

So why was Saturday, the 29th, such a great day? We made contact with a fantastic young man, a candidate for office in the 4th congressional district, for the United States House of Representatives. R.J. Harris is a true Patriot. R.J. is a two time Iraq War vet, a Husband and Father of Five, O.U. graduate in philosophy, O.U. 2nd year law student and a Republican 9-12 candidate. While I don't personally plan to work for any one campaign, I do plan to support those candidates who I believe propagate the 9 Principles and 12 Values by the way they live their lives. R.J., as far as I can tell at this point, is just such a candidate. R.J. and his campaign manager, Jonathan, came to a truck stop where we had to stop at for fuel and met with Tina and I for about an hour.
R.J. Harris, and his campaign manager, took the time to sign the truck in support of the 9 principles and 12 Values and in support of the mission Tina and I have undertaken.

Candidate Harris took the time, while visiting with us, to visit with some other drivers and let them know about What is happening in America and what He plans to do to help turn things in the right direction. He took some time to learn of some of the issues and concerns that we, as drivers have with the industry and our government as a whole.

As we were preparing to go our separate ways, Mr. Harris asked Tina to come and stand next to him. As she stood beside him, Mr. Harris pulled a coin from his pocket and began to explain the tradition of militray coins or "Commander Coins" and handed Tina a U.S. Minted Silver American Eagle Coin. This is the story R.J. told,as I understand it. If I have obliterated this story please correct me by email and I will make the necessary corrections here. My appologies in advance if I did so. R.J
The giving of a “recognition coin” is a tradition long ingrained in military heritage. Known as a “commander” or “challenge” coin, the military used the coins to salute outstanding performance and acknowledge meritorious achievements. The recognition by a coin in the military dates back to the Boer War at the turn of the 20th century when deserving officers were decorated through the giving of a new sixpence, delivered with a handshake.

The modern-day tradition of the military commander coin began in the Vietnam era. It was during this war that the military began to use specially-minted coins, reflecting specific unit emblems or seals, to promote character and pride amongst the units’ officers.

R. J. continues his explanation of the tradition. In parting, I would just like to thank R.J. and his campaign manager, Jonathan, for taking the time to meet with us and learn of some of our concerns and find out more about our mission. Thanks to a couple of Great American Patriots.

Finally, My guess, is that anything I decide to give Tina from this point forward will be dwarfed in meaning by the meaning that this coin has to her. She has since stared at, handled, and does cherish such an amazing token given by such an amazing patriot...as do I.

Back to LAX Tonight.

First of all, I'd like to thank my good friend at AnnieOakley.com, Thepalination.com, and ConservaBid.com for the amazing work and time she has invested in the new banner for my blog. This young lady does some amazing work and is very talented at what she does. Be sure and visit her sites and patronize as you can. We, as conservatives, need to support one another in any way we can, at every opportunity that arises.

Man was it good to sleep all night, without the truck running, bouncing down the highway. Well, now enough of that. We received a call from dispatch a bit ago. We were offered, and accepted, a load right straight back to Carson, CA(LAX). The load is to be ready at about 1100 pm tonight and they are usually pretty much on time out of this facility. For those of you that follow this blog, you can reverse my last route, LAX to ATL and that will be the route. As for stopping points for fuel, not sure at this point, but I will post those stops when we get moving. I am guessing thou, the first stop will be in Olive Branch, MS and then either OK City, OK or Tucumcari, NM. We should be in LAX at about noon or so(Eastern Time) on Sunday.

LAX to ATL Update

Left LAX about 0915 this morning and headed east out of CA. Got to Kingman, AZ about 300 this afternoon and fueled. Boy, was that an experience.

A cook, from the truckstop restaurant, came running to the truck, an obvious huge fan of the 912 project and we talked for a bit. She signed the truck and thanked us, took some of her own pictures and moved on. Then, an RV'er came over, stood and read the truck, loved the idea, the concept, and the mission and signed the truck. She is a business owner with 13 employees and is scared to death about what is happening to our great Republic. She too signed the truck and went back to her Rv. Then, another driver approached and we talked for a bit, I explained our mission, he read the truck and was very enthusiastic about our mission. His favorite Principle of the 9 was, "The Government works for me, I do no work for them". He signed the truck, thanked us for our dedication to waking up America, shook hands and moved on.

So now, we are headed back down the interstate, towards the East and our next stop will probably be in Oklahoma CIty, Ok for fuel. We should be there between 0800 and 0900 tomorrow morning. We are currently about 710 west of there, almost to the Arizona/New Mexico state line. I would suppose we will be in Albuquerque, thou not stopping at about 1100 this evening or so, then Amarillo, TX about 0430 in the morning, then as I said, 0800-0900 in Ok. City, OK. I will update more as times are known.

In Los Angeles Now, Headed to Atlanta, Ga in the Morning

We arrived in Los Angeles at about 1200 noon today, right on schedule. One we got parked, we had some breakfast, and done some paper and computer work. now, unfortunately, it was time to wash the truck. This is quite the job on a truck of this size, especially if you want it to look right when you are finished. About 4 hours, a lunch break, and about 6 bottles of water later, I was done.

We had a couple of great experiences yesterday with folks looking at and signing the truck. One couple, truck driver's in town for her mother's funeral, stopped us on our way into a restaurant and really liked the design on the truck. They had read it as we drove in and agreed with our mission and the 9-12 project. They were happy to be able to be a part of our mission by signing the truck. Then, after we were loaded, we had to stop for fuel, just down the road from the terminal, and another driver came over just to see what was on the truck. We talked for a bit, his words about the design were I love it, I mean I really love it". He asked about the wrap, and I explained how much vinyl was used and how long it took to install and that Today's Graphics Incorporated, in Dade City, Florida had performed the install. He too was pleased to be a part of it by signing the truck. Pictures of these folks will be posted a bit later.

We took a call from dispatch earlier this afternoon and they had loads to Atlanta, Ga or Kansas CIty, mo. We opted for Atlanta, Ga. Our load is to be ready in the morning at about 0500 eastern time and we will be traveling across I-40 to Memphis, TN the south east on 78 to Birmingham, AL where we will get onto I-20 and travel that straight into Atlanta. We will get on the bypass loop and travel that south to our terminal. Major cities will be Barstow CA, Kingman AZ, Flagstaff AZ, Gallup NM, Albuquerque Nm, Amarillo TX, Oklahoma City OK, Little Rock AR, Memphis TN, Birmingham Al, then straight to Atlanta. Since the loads out of here are seldom on time, I cannot give city times but rest assured, I will update when I know.

Dallas Truck Show, "GATS" Pictures

As I promised in an earlier post, I went to the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, TX on the 20th. Seems like a month of Sundays ago now. We have been there for the last 3 years running and it seemed that the traffic was down again this year. Not only was the spectator or attendee traffic down though, there was noticeably a fewer number of displays and or vendors in attendance. We did see a lot of people who are leased to the same company to which we are leased. One of the husband wife teams bought a new truck, with a custom sleeper and it was on display there. The builder of the custom bunk was AA(double A) and it was a spectacular build. Someday, I will have to tell the story, no the nightmare of our sleeper build, by a derelict in Brooten, MN. but I digress. I didn't get a picture of the custom sleeper, for some stupid reason, for which I have no explanation.

I did get some good pics of some very custom trucks though, they follow. Enjoy.
This is a picture of a late 70's or early 80's model W9A Kenworth. I would love to do a complete rebuild of one of these trucks and run it up and down the highways.
The picture on the right is of a B61 model Mack. My father had one of these trucks leased to Watkins Motor Lines when he first started in Trucking over 53 years ago. His had a sleeper cab on it and he and his brother ran a team operation from southern Illinois to Florida, again, for Watkins Motor Lines. I would also like to do one of these and take my father on a farewell to trucking trip across the U.S.. I think he'd love that.

This is one of two of my favorite "customs". The paint on this truck is like a mirror and the "Suicide Doors" are amazingly natural looking. I like the way the razors are used throughout the truck, in and out, as a theme. He even has a shifter made into a razor edge. The razors in the paint are in a kind of 3D, so that it seems as if you could actually cut yourself on them if touched.

This is another Peterbilt that just really, at first blush, appears to be in an unfinished state. Although, when inspected a bit closer, this is exactly the look for which the owner was looking. I actually am torn a bit between this look and the one above. I like them both, a lot, and would love to have one of each. Very, very, cool.

This one is a beautiful specimen, for those who are secure enough in their manhood, of a well done paint and body rework. You can actually own this one for $60,000.00, which is believed to be a very good price for a truck of this magnitude. What a great gift to a driving wife. I offered but was denied the opportunity to give it to her as an early Christmas present. Her view is that one is enough. I just wonder if this gets me off the hook for Christmas. I mean, I DID offer...I'm just sayin'.

This truck is slammed to the ground, as you can see. From what I could tell with a closer look, it appears as if, it may be driven but only a few miles per year. I think it actually lifts off the ground so that it can be operated, but only short distances and not as an operating class 8 unit "for hire" to pull a trailer. I couldn't locate the owner for a verification of my findings or beliefs. Another great look adopted and adapted from the auto industry.

I just really enjoyed staring at this truck for the flames. I'm not a big fan of flame paint jobs usually, but this one was immaculately laid out and applied in such a way that it actually appeared to be on fire. I could actually get the feeling of looking or staring into a campfire on a cold autumn night if I cared to look long enough without my wife yapping, oops, talking in my ear. Just kidding, if you read this blog often, you all know I love my wife more than anything on earth. Anyway, back to the truck. As I was saying, you could be, or at least I could be entranced by the paint on this truck, or at least b the flames panted onto the truck. These guys, whoever the painters are, are unbelievable. I have never seen this kind of talent displayed anywhere other than on metals, metals of all kinds. Automobiles, trucks, pickups, motorcycles, etc.. You are truly missing out on talent if you don't visit some of these show venues.

Speaking of masterful paint jobs. I don't think these pictures do any justice whatsoever to the detail work on some of these displays. I'm telling you the truth when I say that the talent at these shows is honestly unmatched or certainly unsurpassed at any other venue where art is displayed. I realize this is a motorcycle in a truck show but to say the paint is extraordinary is the understatement of the year.

I believe I would be remiss in my attempts to display the beauty at this show if I didn't show you this truck and trailer. This trailer has been air brushed to the finest of fine detail. Again, these pictures don't show the true talent and or beauty but trust me when I say that none other has been so perfectly done. The picture is of horses, or their heads, splashing through water and show the freedom of their jaunt. I, again, stared endlessly. I couldn't get a clear shot but enjoy what you can see.

This is a view of the Pride and Polish show trucks taken from the upper level of the show. While it doesn't reveal all the trucks that were there for judging, it does give you an idea of the enormity of the show.

A show, within the show, was the impersonators, like this Johnny Cash look alike. Though I didn't get any audio of this guy, he does sound amazingly similar to the Icon who is Johnny Cash. We enjoyed his music until the displays opened at 1200 noon and later that day they also had a Marilyn Monroe look and act alike as well. I wsan't even able to get close enough to get a decent picture of her. Why you ask, c'mon, it's a truck show, guys everywhere and Marilyn Monroe in the house...You figure it out.

Finally, I didn't get a picture of Randy Fields and his FS2500 bypass filter display but Randy is a very good friend of mine and a true patriot. Randy invented and distributes the FS2500 filter unit for many different uses. I have used Randy's filter unit for over 10 years and have never had an issue with any engine I have ever ran. We have ran every truck we've owned over 1 million miles with absolutely NO major engine problems whatsoever. I think that that is directly attributable to the quality and performance of Randy's filtering unit. Incidentally, I have been, nor will I ever be, paid or compensated in any way for this recommendation. I truly believe in this product and any product for which I might, in the future, make a recommendation.

Sitting in Salt Lake City, UT.

Well, we arrived here, with much needed above and beyond the call of duty, help from my dear wife, on Sunday at about 1230 in the afternoon. A little ahead of schedule but that was a good thing. We took a shower and headed to Walmart for a lite shopping trip. We needed just some bare necessities, water and such so off we went. We arrived there and parked in the very rear of the lot, really behind the store and it was almost immediate. Before we could get out of the truck, I looked around and people were staring. One guy, with his children drove over, spoke for a few minutes, then he drove off. We walked on and I turned around, for some reason, to look at the truck. The guy that had driven off was back there reading the truck, there was a guy that had been standing in the door of the auto shop who had walked over, there was a Walmart employee headed that way, and many others. We went on inside, finished our shopping...$99.00 for necessities, LOL. You just gotta love it, go to the store for a quick trip and come out $99.00 lighter. My wife said, well, we got out for less than $100.00, that's better than we have done in a long time. HA!, well, I guess she's right.

We headed back to the truck and there were a couple more Walmart employees reading and talking, one commented, "nice truck".

Back to the terminal for some more R&R since we were pretty sure we would be here all night. We got back there, spoke to a guy at the terminal about the truck for a few minutes and then it started raining. I was doing some paperwork and had the radio on and I kept hearing something that didn't coincide with what was on the radio. I turned the XM off and asked Tina, "what is that" it was mumbling of some type but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. No tv, no radio, sound was off on computer, what the...? She looked in the mirror and there was a guy, an employee of our company, reading word for word, the side of the truck. He read for about 5 minutes, however long it took to read every word, then walked off saying, "Wow", he'd walk, look back at the truck, say"Wow", and take a few more steps and do it again. I think he liked the truck.

we sat a =round a bit, then I had to lay down. Still very ill, or ill again, I just couldn't fight it anymore. I laid down about 2:30 or so and didn't get up until this morning at 0915. Boy, did I need that, I feel 100% better this morning. Back to blogging.

As I said earlier, we are in Salt Lake City, well, actually it is West Valley City, UT. Not real sure at this point where we will be going out of here but I'll be sure and let you know when I know.

Yes, we are accepting contributions to help keep the mission afloat. Alb to Tulsa, to Kansas CIty and now to Salt Lake City

As stated in the last post, we were redirected to Tulsa with the load from Dallas. We didn't find this out, though, until we were already in Albuquerque, NM. Really, it isn't a big deal, at least we keep moving, very light load, (burns less fuel), and the will pay us anyway. The trip from Dallas to Tulsa would have been about 245 miles and by taking it to Albuquerque first, we ended up getting over 1250 miles, actually 1271, Sounds cost effective to me but hey, I'm just a driver. Let me make it clear, it wasn't our company that misdirected and then redirected the load, it was our company's customer. Hmm, wonder who will pay all that extra freight. My guess would be, the end user but again, I'm just a truck driver.

Anyway, we got to Tulsa last night about 1030pm and waited till this afternoon, about 1230 or so, for someone to come from the terminal to come down and secure the load. A side note here, I woke up about 0300 this am sick, and I mean sick, as a matter of fact, I would have to get better to die. Not real sure what the heck is wrong, but Tina is doing a fantastic job taking care of me and driving all at the same time. God Bless a great woman.

When we left Tulsa, OK, they had us take an empty to Kansas city, Mo and now we are loaded for Salt Lake City, UT. We left our Kansas City terminal at about 615pm and headed north on I-29. Had to stop just up the road for fuel so while we were fueling we had some great opportunities for sharing about our mission, the mission of the 912 project and America's Alarm Clock. Had some RVer's come over, they were from Bloomington, IN, and we had quite the conversation. When they were done, I had them ripping up their AARP membership cards and signing the truck. Incidentally, I am still ill, and that really doesn't give tribute to how I really feel, but during the time we were sharing with these folks, I had no idea I was even sick. When I got back into the truck though, now that was a way different story. But I digress...

What a great day to be an American. Some of the drivers and the terminal manager in Kansas City were also very excited about the truck and our endeavor. Again, a great day to be an American, as is every day.

Remember to make a contribution to our project if you can find it in your budget to donate. Any and all contributions are needed to keep this project going. You may click on any of the donate buttons on this page or at Stop the Destruction of America

Leaving For Albuquerque Tonight

Took a call from dispatch a little bit ago, while we were walking around the truck show at the Dallas Convention Center, and all they had was a load to Albuquerque, NM. Obviously, after sitting since yesterday, we took the load and will be leaving our DFW terminal at about 7:00 pm eastern time this evening.

We will travel Hwy 287 north to Amarillo, TX where we will get onto I-40 west right on to Albuquerque, NM.

We have all kinds of time to get there if we want to take it but we will probably just head that way and should arrive there in the morning, that is Friday morning.

We had a great time at the truck show today. We got there a littler early, 10:00 and it didn't open to the public until 1200. That was alright, we sat around, talked, and just enjoyed people watching. They had a Johnny Cash impersonator in the lobby so we sat and watched him and listened to the music. We went in about 1200 and, wow, what a show. Lots of vendors, and a whole bunch of show quality trucks in the Pride and Polish Truck Show. I'll be posting some pictures later, just don't have time right now before we have to leave here for Albuquerque.

Arrived DFW

Well,we got here, to DFW terminal at about 1245 this afternoon. Dropped the trailer and had lunch, here in the truck.

I had to have water in the holding tank so I headed over to the shop and filled the tank. While there, one of the guys from the shop came out, stared at and read the sides and hood of the truck, every word I think, and then came to me and asked what it was all about. That is all the opening I need. We had a very good discussion, and he wanted to sign the truck. I will post a picture of that at some point.

While I am at it, I guess I'll mention that Trent, over at The 912 Project Fan Site is in the process of putting together an article about the mission of "America's Alarm Clock" (912 Truck) and will be posting it in the next day or so. I am very thankful to Trent and his willingness to help spread the word.

We don't have any dispatch orders out of DFW terminal yet this evening so we will likely be here all night and into tomorrow evening. Just not sure at this time but we will let you know as soon as we get information on our next move.

In The meantime, if you care to make a contribution to help with the costs of printing materials to pass out, the cost of Glenn Beck's Common Sense Books, and the cost of Pocket Constitutions that we like to give every one, you can make a contribution by clicking on any of the donate buttons on this page or at Stop the Destruction of America. Video

Headed To Orlando Tonight.

We arrived at the DFW terminal last night, well, actually this morning at about 1220am. Had a Great nights sleep, rise and shine about 0900. We sat around a bit, had breakfast, listened to "Cowboy Church" and "Bill Mack's Sunday Social" on xm radio drank a bunch of coffee, then I had to go to work. ugh!!

I had to wash the Truck, 106 degrees outside but it had to be done. You see, with the wrap on the truck,we can't patronize the truck washes because they use too much pressure. So,to make sure the truck always looks its best...well, almost always, I installed a hose bib on the outside of the truck and now carry a hose and brushes and wash mitt to wash it myself. I can be a real pain, but, I get a lot of exercise doing it and I can get it done when I want it done. Anyway, about 3 1/2 hours later, the truck was washed, tires glossed, and wheels shined. I actually drank 8 20 oz bottles of water while I was washing this monster, but, I guess it looks pretty good now anyway.

I got back in the truck, where my wife was sitting in the air conditioning, watching the Michigan Race. Relaxed a bit and had supper and finished watching the race.

Dispatch actually called pretty early this morning and asked us to run to Orlando tonight. I really didn't want to go to Orlando because it is so hard to get back out of there but we took the load because freight is slow and we really shouldn't be turning anything down right now. So, we'll sit and relax the rest of the day, and the load should be ready about 0100 eastern time. This run will take us south east out of Dallas to I-20, through Shreveport LA, Jackson MS, then south on U.S. 49 to Hattisburg MS, to 98 through Mobile Al and down to I-10 east. That will take us through Pensacola Fl, Tallahassee FL, To I-75 south where we will run to the turpike then right on into Orlando. Since I don't know for sure when we will leave here, (sometimes the loads are on time here other times, not so much), I can't really give times for city pass throughs. I will update times later.

Contributions are always appreciated to help cover the cost of Books, paperwork, flyers, and pocket Constitutions that we pass out as we travel and visit with folks.
You may use any of the donate buttons on this page to make a contribution. Any and all are greatly appreciated.

Load Destination Change

Took a call at about 0300 eastern time this morning. Dispatch wants us to go to DFW terminal instead of ATL due to lack of freight for ATL. That really isn't unusual, especially in today's economic climate. They have to combine loads to make a full load worth moving. When this one gets to DFW it will be combined with other ATL freight, loaded onto another trailer and shipped out to ATL.

Anyway, we will be delivering to our DFW terminal at about 1230am. We are currently near Sweetwater, TX on I-20 East bound. Lots of good feed back driving through Texas.

Contributions are always appreciated to help cover the cost of Books, paperwork, flyers, and pocket Constitutions that we pass out as we travel and visit with folks.

Off to Atalnta, 8/15, 0600

We got here, to Phoenix, last night at about 1130 pm. Dropped the trailer and off to bed. Man is it ever hot here. Even at 1130 last night it was still 93 degrees. Anyway, we got up this morning, showered, done a little paperwork, and took off for the Kenworth dealer about 7 miles away. We needed to get a bi-annual D.O.T. inspection done as required by the company to which we are leased, for safety reasons. We dropped the truck off and headed out, on foot, to the local Wafflay Hoosay, that is French for the "high end" restaurant known as Waffle House, for those of you that don't speak Frenchy French. When we returned to the dealer about an hour later, they had started the inspection.

Now, suffice to say, I know my truck pretty darned well, and I knew I had a steering shaft U-joint that had some "slack" in it but was waiting until I got home to replace the joint myself. Well, they seen otherwise, they wouldn't issue the D.O.T. inspection sticker unless I allowed them to repair the joint, or take the truck, replace the joint, and bring it back for the sticker. No problem, I let them replace the joints, I want ahead and had them both replaced since one is the same age as the other and if 1 is bad, the other isn't far behind. I also had them recalibrate the speedo for the smaller rear tires I had installed a few weeks ago. The speedo was about 3 mph off, reading too fast, so they done that as well. I don't have the electronic capability to recalibrate the speedo so that was a must do by the dealer.

While we were standing around waiting, several people approached the truck and were looking around, pointing at different features, and talking with one another. So, doing my citizen duty, and doing what was meant to be done when we had the truck wrapped in this manner, I walked over and started talking with several of them. They all agreed that we definitely have a bloated, inefficient, overbearing, verging on tyrannical government and that something needed to be done. I explained the 912 project an d the mission of America's Alarm Clock, I handed out a ton of reading materials and information about the project and the Taxpayer Revolt in D.C. on 9/12/09 . I was also pleased to get pictures of them signing the truck and they are posted in the slide show above.

After we were all done at the dealer we drove out to the truck stop and filled our water tank, emptied our wasted tank and walked across the street for a meal. I ended up NOT washing the truck as it was 108 deg in the shade here today. I like hot weather but that is just ridiculous. We are now back at the terminal, just kicking back, a little television, some blogging, then off to bed. We have an early morning coming.

We received a dispatch, a bit ago, Atlanta, GA. The load is to be ready about 0600 eastern time and we should be in Atlanta at about midnight Sunday. We will be traveling across I-10 to just the other side of Van Horn, TX then I-20 right straight into Atlanta, GA. Major cities will be, starting in Phoenix, AZ, Tuscon AZ, El Paso TX, Midland/Odessa TX, Sweetwater TX, Dallas/FT Worth, TX, Shreveport LA, Jackson MS, Birmingham Al, and Atlanta GA. Our terminal is actually on the south east side of Atlanta in Forest Park, GA.

I will update times for cities after we leave Phoenix since our loads are nearly never on time out of this facility. Anyway, check back often for updates. I will do my best to keep you posted.

Remember, we are passing out a lot of material, flyers for a lot of causes, Common Sense Books, so any and all contributions are appreciated and needed to keep this endeavor headed in the right direction. Finally, New Mexico State Ploice Report... Finished.

After many emails to Sargent Doty of the N.M.S.P., I was notified last night, the 11th of August, that the report had been completed and approved for distribution. I suppose that 3 1/2 hours of harassment takes a few days to document in such a way that it doesn't appear to be harassment. Anyway, the report is supposedly, according to Sargent Doty of the N.M.S.P., was to be mailed today. We shall see.

In other news of interest, at least to me, we are in Irving, TX today. We arrived here from Los Angeles late last night, well, actually early this morning at about 0100 Eastern time. We have no idea, at this point, where we will be headed to out of here or even when we will get a dispatch from here. We were offered an EUV (exclusive use vehicle) load to somewhere in Kansas, just before noon today, but we had to turn it down. I was doing some maintenance on the truck and we had some shopping to do when I was done. I suppose we could have done without shopping, I mean, I could afford to go a day or five without food. In fact, it may even do me some good. But I digress. We just weren't prepared to jump and run on a 495 mile trip, then run empty to Kansas city and sit some more. So, I finished what I was doing, we done the necessary shopping and now we are back at the terminal, eagerly awaiting dispatch.

On the way here yesterday, from L.A., we stopped in Kingman, AZ for fuel, where the driver next to me at the fuel island, a nice young lady, asked if she could take a picture of the truck. She said at first, when she got out of her truck she just ignored ours but then after reading the "912 mission statement" and the rest of the 9 principles and 12 values, she got very excited about what we were doing and the message we were spreading and had to have a picture. She took some pics with her phone and then video taped the whole thing with a flip video. I asked her if she wanted to sign the side of the truck and advised her that she would have to submit to a pic for this site if she signed, she agreed and signed while I took a pic. After much conversation, I proceeded to give her some paperwork and flyers about the March on D.C. on the 12th of September(taxpayer revolt), I also gave her a pocket constitution and a copy of Common Sense by Glenn Beck. She was delivering mail, so she was on a pretty tight schedule and had to run, but promised to spread the word.

Then today, while shopping at Wal-Mart, we were approached by a couple that wanted to know if our truck was done by "trick my truck". I explained that it wasn't, I explained our mission and they smiled and moved on. I suppose the point of that short story is this. People are more intrigued by the possibility of meeting someone or seeing something that they had seen on television, than they are by seeing through the trucks visual appeal and looking at the mission. We can't wake everybody, I guess, but I just found it interesting.

Not to be discouraged though. Another fella and his family drove up, was very excited about the truck and said he'd love to sign it...until I told him a picture was in order, then he refused. Well, i suppose if you can't show that you believe in the mission, why would you say you believe in the mission with a signature. He moved on with no signature but I did give him a lot of literature, and one of Glenn Beck's Common Sense books.

As I was closing my door to get ready to leave, we had another visitor. This guy hadn't heard of the 912 project but had stopped and read the side of the truck on his way in the store earlier. He just wanted us to know how proud he was to have seen it and thanked us for what we are doing. He is with the U.S.O. He spends his days there with the folks, supporting them. He has a son in theater (Afghanistan), right now and and was pleased to let me know that he'd be home next month. We talked a bit, he signed the side of the truck, picture to be posted soon, and we talked some more. What an inspiring conversation. This guy is a real Patriot, not only to me, but to many young military men and women. Just in case he would happen to read this, thank you sir for your devotion to our troops and thank your troop(son), for his devotion to the safety and security of our great nation and his defense of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Should you see fit in your budgets to help support the mission of our endeavor, feel free to click on any of the donate buttons on this page or at Stop the Destruction of America to make a contribution and to help defray the costs of the pocket constitutions, Glenn Beck Common Sense Books, and printing Flyers and other literature to pass out.

Dispatch to DFW Tonight.

My wife and I went for about a 2 mile walk this early this morning. We came back to the truck, showered and had breakfast, I made omelets and fried potatoes, now that good food. I then decided it was time for some maintenance on the truck, lubed the chassis, checked everything over and then time for a wash. I carry everything on the truck, that I need to wash the truck myself, so I proceeded to do just that. Before I got started, one of the other drivers came over and we were talking about the truck. It amazes me daily how many people are of like mind but just aren't involved. I told them about what our mission is and about the taxpayer revolt gathering in D.C. on the 12th of September. I gave the couple each a copy of the pocket constitution and had them to sign the truck. As a side note here, I am taking pictures as folks sing the truck. I will post them here when we get enough to post. Several others came over to talk about the truck, the problems of the country, and the perilous direction of the greatest nation on earth.

Dispatch called a bit ago, and asked if we wanted to make two pickups, one in Irvine, CA and one in Ontario, CA then deliver, with 2 drops, one in MS. and one in TN.. We turned that offer down since we had no idea what the facilities at the pickup is like. We have to have a pretty large area to get into with our truck because of the length so we decided to turn the offer down. I hated to do that in the economic climate in which we are operating but I'd rather do that than to accept a load then not be able to get backed into their docks for pick up.

About an hour later, dispatch called back with a pickup at the airport, here at LAX and delivers to our terminal in Dallas. That load we accepted as we have been into the airport here and we know what this particular facility is like. So, we will take an empty trailer, go to the airport about 630 pm local time and get loaded for Dallas(Irving), TX.

Feel free to contribute if you see the need or can find it in the budget to help us cover the cost of materials we use to educate folks and spread the message of the 912 project and promote the return to the beliefs and visions of our founding fathers. Another Update For 08/08

We stopped in Little Rock for fuel at about 7:00 pm, left there about 7:15 and we are now on our way to Carson again. We have one more planned stop, other than driver changes, and that planned stop is Albuquerque, NM. Ah yes, lovely, friendly, New Mexico.

Anyway, had a lot of good comments and looks in Little Rock at the Petro. I just never had any idea how the truck would stop people in their tracks as they are walking through the parking lot. I passed out about 7 pocket constitutions and 1 Glenn Beck, Common Sense book. What a great stop that was.

Oh, am I taking donations? You Bet, click on any of the donate buttons on this page or go to Stop the Destruction of America and use one of the donate buttons there. We are merely trying to cover costs of materials we are passing out to awaken folks.

08/08 Updare

Sorry for no posting yesterday. We got to Martinsville at about 1200 noon, dropped the loaded trailer and headed back to Charlotte, NC. Stopped in Madison, NC for lunch, then a 2 mile walk. We finally arrived back in Charlote, near the airport at our terminal, showered and we were actually asleep by 7:30 last night. Good thing too.

Our load to LAX, Carson, CA, was ready at 0400 rather than 0600. Anyway, we left Charlotte terminal, after a safety check of the trailer and truck, at about 0430 and headed west on 74. We stopped in Candler, NC for fuel and moved on. We are now in Knoxville, TN and our next planned stop is Little Rock, AR at about 6:00 or so pm. From there it is on to Albuquerque, NM for more fuel then on to Carson. We expect a 8:00 pm Sunday evening arrival in Carson, though that is tentative at this point. We were actually allowed 44 hours which would make it 1230 or so.

I wish those of you who read this would read the last 3 comments on the last post. The vitriol is spewing. The hatred of America, and what she stands for, is deeply seeded in our society and it will take a long time to reinvigorate our young folks through the teachings of our founders and their principles and values. It has taken over 100 years for the "progressives" to nurture that seed that was planted over 100 years ago. A daily prayer for those who hate us, (the movement), is in line.

Please feel free to contribute to the cause by clicking on any of the donate buttons on this page. We are only trying to defray the costs of the educational materials on the proposed health care bills, the cost of books like Beck's Common Sense, and for the pocket constitutions and the book called "The 5000 year leap. These are all great teaching materials and valuable resources for us to pass to the folks with which we speak.

08/06, Martinsville, VA bound

As we arrived at the Miami terminal this morning at about 0815, we received a message from dispatch, apologizing for last night's load cancellation and offering us a load to Martinsville, VA, then to Los Angeles, CA. Needless to say, we gladly, accepted the load, if for no other reason to get the heck out of Florida. This place sucks for freight this time of year.

The load to Martinsville will leave at about 6:00 pm tonight out of Miami and deliver in Martinsville by Saturday morning. From there, we will run an empty trailer to Charlotte, NC and our load to Los Angeles will leave from there on Saturday evening or real early Sunday morning.

Major cities to Martinsville, VA will be Jacksonville, Fl, Savanah, GA, Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, Winston Salem, NC and Finally Martinsville, VA. From there it is back to Charlotte, NC for a bit of a wait.

When our load to Los Angeles is ready, Whatever time that might be, we will travel through Asheville, NC to Knoxville, TN, Nashville, TN, Memphis, TN, Little Rock, AR, Oklahoma City OK, Amarillo TX, Tucumcari NM, Albuquerqui NM, Flagstaff AZ, Barstow CA, then on into LA or actually Carson, CA.

I will certainly update times and stops as information is available. I do know that there are a lot of readers of these posts along that route, we'd love to see some of you along the way and get you all to sign the truck to show your support.

Check back here and follow us on twitter for updates.

Should you feel obliged to make a contribution, you may click on any of the donate buttons on this page or at Stop The Destruction of America. All contributions are appreciated and needed to help defray the costs of printing, reading materials, pocket constitutions etc. Please help if you can.

08/06, It Has Happened Again, Load Cancelled

Actually, what happened, as told by dispatch, is that there was a dedicated truck here that has to run and his load canceled so they took our DFW load and gave it to that dedicated truck. Personally, I think what truly happened was that the dispatcher on duty had a buddy here that was griping about having to sit and since we are in our "terminal of domicile" and we don't get layover pay to sit they took our load and gave it to his buddy. Whatever, we're still sitting.

We did get a dispatch to Miami, Fl though, as if that is any consolation

08/05, Just Spoke With Dispatch

Well, we were hoping for a call from dispatch before daylight with a load to sgtsomewhere, anywhere. They do that often when they have extra freight that they couldn't get on another load. That didn't happen. We are still at home.

I called to check in with dispatch this morning, actually, just a few minutes ago. Got a hold of dispatch and they offered a load to Dallas, TX, actually Irvine, TX, for 4:00 am on Thursday. I accepted the load, gleefully. I think, once we get away from the house, we will be alright. They usually try to keep us moving as long as we aren't in our home domicile terminal. At any rate, we'll see, hopefully the load won't cancel due to a lack of freight.

In addition, an update on my "incident report" from NMSP. I have not yet received the report from SGT. Doty. I was told, upon initial contact by email, that the report would be accomplished, and approved, for release within 72 hours of the incident. To date, it has been 11 days or 264 hours. Allowing for weekends, and only counting the total number of 8 hour shifts available since the incident less weekends, that would allow the NMSP a total of 88 hours avail to "accomplish and approve" the report. Now, I understand not being able to put a report like that together in a matter of minutes, but 88 hours might be excessive and 264 hours is utterly ridiculous. Not only have I not received notification of the reports completion, I can't even get SGT Doty of the NMSP to answer my emails anymore. I think I'm being dodged. I'll keep you posted.

Now, for another subject. I think we are going to try and arrange a meetup/cruise in support of taxpayer protests, and against health care takeover by our tyrannical government at each city we are in for a day or so. I will be contacting, or trying to contact,Tea Party Organizers in each city. I can almost always give 18-24 hours notice of our arrival and maybe we can arrange a gathering and subsequent cruise around town with my truck leading and a bunch of cars following with signs all over their cars to raise awareness and get people involved with our movement. My point in telling you this is for you to pass the word to as many folks as you know. Maybe you can get some organizers on board with this and to read this post and we can get this movement in high gear before September 12, for 912dc.org.

Another thing is that I am pricing t-shirts and posters and other paraphernalia to help raise funds for our project. Plese let me know what you think of this and whether you or your friends would be interested in these items or what items in which you may be interested.

As always, if you can find it in you budget to make a contribution to this mission to help defray the costs of printing, paper, pocket constitutions, "Common Sense" books, etc., it would be greatly appreciated. You can use any of the donate buttons here or at Stop the Destruction of America. Any and all contributions would be of help in our endeavor to WAKE UP AMERICA.

08/03 Update

Well, after sitting all day in Miami, we received a call at about 5:00 pm and had a load dispatched from Miami, Fl(British Airways) going to Orlando, Fl(British Airways). The load was to be ready at 7:00 pm and to deliver in Orlando at 8:00 am on Sunday morning. No problem, we hooked to an empty trailer and headed for the Miami airport. The pickup was literally only 3 miles away but I am always a little apprehensive about driving a semi truck and trailer into an airport facility, when we don't know where we are going and what to expect. Anyway, we got in okay, got loaded, no problem and off we go to Orlando. We headed north on I-95 and had planned on stopping in Vero beach for dinner. We got within about 60 miles of Vero Beach and received n "emergency" message from Dispatch. It seems that British Airways needed us to return to the loading dock so that they can add some more freight to the load. WHAT!!!!? Man, we were both hungry and were looking forward to getting out of the truck long enough for a meal, fixed by someone else. Oh well, we turned around, headed back to Miami, and Tina fixed dinner in the truck. We got back to Miami about 10:30 pm, they spent 15 minutes removing freight and making room for the new freight and off we went, back on our way to Orlando.

Since the Orlando delivery couldn't be made until "8:00", and we were very tired and only about 4 hours from delivery, we drove north about 1/2 way and found a rest area to park for a few hours for a nap. Got up about 4:00 am and went on to Orlando. Once again, a new delivery point, in an airport, always brings apprehension so we were cautiously optimistic, but forged on to make a timely delivery. No problem, we got to our delivery point at about 6:30, no-one around so another nap was in order. Got up at 8:00, still no-one around, checked dispatch orders, and it seems that after our initial contact from dispatch when we were told about an 8:00 delivery, our actual dispatch order indicated a 10:00 am delivery. Not real unusual for that to happen bet every time it does I just wonder why people can't be honest...ALL THE TIME. But I digress. Back to bed for a couple hours and I checked at 9:30 am and sure enough they were there. I checked in with receiving and backed into the dock where, 2.5 hours later, 12:00 we were unloaded.

we went back to our terminal, again about 4 miles away and dropped our empty trailer, met with a friend who drives for the same company and visited for a bit. While standing around talking, a fella in a parking lot sweeper drove up, got out of the unit he was driving and screamed, SAVE THE CONSTITUTION. We found out this this guy had been to every taxpayer revolt in a 50 mile circumference of Orlando that he could get to and another interesting fact. He had just, in December, filed bankruptcy on a business that employed 4 plus himself. He hadn't asked for a bailout, help, or any other relief from our government but decided to climb back out of the hole, while paying his debt, on his own. Hey Chrysler, GM, Citi Bank, AIG, B of A etc, etc, take a hint, learn a lesson here.

Anyway, after about 45 minutes in the blazing sun, we decided we had better call dispatch and find out if we would be getting a dispatch out of Orlando anytime soon. Not only would we not get one Sunday night but in the words of the dispatcher on duty, he hoped that we would be out of there by Wednesday morning when he comes back to work after having 2 days off. So, we, the friend and my wife and I headed for our house about 70 miles west and spent the day at the house. The friend left last night but we are still here, relaxing, waiting to here from dispatch.

I called them at about (;40 this morning and still not looking good, but would see what they could do. We'll see.

El Paso Load Too Heavy For Our Truck

We arrived in Miami this morning about 0130 as we expected. Our load for El Paso wasn't ready so we were able to get some sleep before it was loaded. We were notified at about 0700 that the load was ready. I proceeded to the office for paperwork and seen that the load weighed 39500#. Hmmm, only about 2000# over what I can haul legally. The office didn't believe that I would be overweight, so I hooked to the load, headed about 5 miles down the road to the nearest scale and found that we were over the gross allowable weight by 3000#. Our gross weight was actually 83080# and we are allowed 80000#. Well, needless to say, we turned back towards the terminal and called dispatch to let them know that either the terminal had to remove some weight and redistribute the weight that was left or we wouldn't be able to pull the load to El Paso. They decided to take the load from us, because they couldn't pull any freight off, and give it to another team. Long story short, we are still in Miami and not sure when we will be leaving. I do know, however, that Miami, on a Saturday, with 4-5 other trucks is not a good scenario. My guess is that we will still be here Monday, but we'll see what happens.

On our way down here last night, we seen a billboard that said, "Who Is John Galt".
The billboard had no other information on it like, paid for by ..., I guess it was just refreshing to see. Just in case you get in the area, the billboard is located at about the 2 mile post in Georgia, and positioned so that it can be seen from the South bound lanes.

We also had some very positive feedback and dialogue with a driver in Rock Hill, SC when we stopped for fuel. The driver on the fuel island next to us said, and I'm quoting, as closely as I can remember, "It isn't often you see a design like that, that puts a lump in your throat the way that does.". A very nice compliment and certainly appreciated. One in a while, someone just makes your day by realizing what you are doing and letting you know that they appreciate the mission. By the way, did I mention the guy was from Canada? A Canadian driver, in America, gets a lump in his throat when he sees our truck because, he said, he realizes and understands what is at risk for America, what we have to lose. How ironic. I only wish more here, more American born Americans, would wake up to that fact. I would love to have had a video recorder while talking with this guy yesterday. It truly was, very moving.

Further down the road we encountered some traffic in Jacksonville, Fl and while in traffic we noticed someone taking pictures of the truck from another vehicle. That was fine, except that, they were holding up traffic and making it impossible for me to move to the left lane where I needed to be to get through the accident site. Finally, they got their pictures, gave us a thumbs up, and moved on down the road.

as far as my "twitter" account goes, my phone isn't compatible, I guess. I have tried to send messages but can't seem to get them to send. I am currently shopping for a Sprint phone that will be compatible with twitter and that will also stand up to the abuses that I tend to dish out. Well, not me but the rigors of the industry. Okay, it's probably me but I'll never copp to that.

Anyway, as usual, if you so desire, you can make a contribution here by clicking on any of the donate buttons on this page or at Stop the Destruction of America, and those contributions go to help defray the costs of materials such as pocket constitutions, Common Sense books, flyers, ink to print flyers, pictures, and picture cd's, etc. that we pass out during our travels. Incidentally, what do you all think of the idea of having t-shirts, posters and other things to sell here? Would that make "contributing" more palatable for most? Let me know what you think by commenting below.
