An Abrupt, Unwanted Sabbatical of at Least 2 Months

While I won't go into full detail, I have been forced, for health reasons, to take a minimum of two months off.

It has come to my attention...again, through an eye opening event, that we cannot and must not continue to treat our God given temples(bodies) like a mere clunker vehicle with which to muddle through life and take us from point to point. We must treat it as a precious piece of equipment, supplied for our use, and it must be taken care of like it is your only worry in life.

I will be posting here from time to time in case you care to continue reading but there will be little news on the issue of the truck travels. I am going to try to arrange with the company to whom we are leased, for me to make the truck available, as well as myself, for appearances at venues and gatherings where we might be invited. If you have a gathering which you would like the 9/12 Truck, myself and or both to attend, please let me know here or at my twitter or Facebook page and I will do what I can to see to it that we are there.

Unfortunately these appearances can no longer go uncompensated. It does cost a lot of money to run the truck up and down the highways but our fees will be as reasonable as can be expected with this administrations energy policies driving up fuel prices and the cost of living.

I hope you will all continue to check back often to see when the 9/12 Truck will be up and running again. Again, thanks for all your continued support. It is truly appreciated.

In the mean time...Here is a novel item for the coming election year.

Sittin' Back in Columbus Now

we got back to the Columbus terminal at about 1215 this afternoon. After we dropped the trailer, and Tina ran the paperwork inside, I fueled the truck and Tina went inside to get some laundry done.

We received a message from dispatch asking that we pull a load to Kansas City MO. We accepted the load and it is to leave here at about 1700. I though that I would pump the fuel right way so that we didn't delay the load by fueling after it was ready.

We will leave here and run across I-70 all the way to Kansas City.

As I sit writing this post, dispatch called again and asked if we had any idea what we wanted to do when we get to Kansas City. My reply was, hmmmm, hadn't thought about it, we aren't loaded in Columbus yet. HE asked if we would be willing to pull a load to Phoenix and then on to Vegas. We accepted the load, so I suppose we are set for the weekend now.

We should, if the Kansas City load is ready on time, leave here at about 1700, be in Kansas City at about 0430 and then get a short nap there. The load from there to Phoenix is actually coming from Chicago by another truck. That load is to be there by 1100 tomorrow morning.

Again, if the load is there on time, we should be in Phoenix by about 0900 on Sunday. I have no idea yet what time we will leave Phoenix and therefor don't know what time we will be in Vegas. I will update here when I know though.

From Kansas City we will travel I-35 south to U.S. 54 west to I-40 west to I-17 south into Phoenix. We will fuel in Kansas City MO when we get there and shouldn't have to fuel again before we get to Phoenix. That means a non stop trip except for driver switches and stop signs or lights. Sounds like a busy weekend, huh?

We hope to see you along the way. Should you see the 912 Truck, be sure and wave and let us know you seen us by commenting here with time and place.

Back to work, Well, 4 Days Ago I Mean.

Well, it's a new year, a new beginning, for many things in many of our lives, and Prayerfully, a whole lot of newly awakened Americans, and some who may even remove the liberal chains and blinders placed by the Democrats and many of the left leaning Republicans over the last century or more.

Tina and I had a great vacation. We had planned on taking off on the 19th of December but when we got close to home on the 16th, it was going to be near impossible for dispatch to get us to leave Florida again. We ended up at home on the morning of the 17th and came back to work on the 9th of January.

We left Florida, in the car this time, on the morning of the 19th and headed for Southern Illinois, where most of both our families live. We spent about a week and a half there visiting with, and actually getting some quality time with friends and family. I was able to visit, at length, with a pair of twins, with whom I attended high school. You know you have a true friendship when you can walk into someones house and pick up right where you left off 20 years ago. Though I have talked to these two a couple times since I left Illinois, it can't have been more than 3-4 times in 22 years and nothing has changed...except my hair line and waist size, but I digress.

I was also able to spend some time with another very close friend of mine with whom I used to work and who married, what I would guess, is probably my only other true friend in this world. They are no longer together, but we remain best friends all the same. I would just like to say thanks to all of them for taking time from their busy holiday and work schedules and spending, with me, what time was available.

I was also able to spend some fantastic time with my mother, who is undoubtedly the greatest mother of all time. Though we don't see eye to eye, politically that is, we both understand that we do still live in America and she has the right to be wrong. I spent a few hours with a younger brother at his house and then 1 1/2 days with my fantastic, older, much older, sister. My sister is running for a Precinct Committeeman seat in Illinois, Madison County, Jarvis Precinct #1. To say we had a good visit would be to short change the quality of the time we had together.

Tina was with her family most of the time. Since we are away from our families all year,or most of the year, and we are together all the time we are away from them, suffice to say that separate vacations can be a good thing at times, and yesm that feeling is mutual. HaHa

From there, we arrived back at our water damaged, torn apart for repairs, humble abode, early on the morning of the 31st. We bought a couple of movies and stayed in for to ring in the New Year.

On Saturday it was back to work, well at home anyway. I had a lot of work to do to the truck. I had to replace all 6 shocks, change the oil and filters, do a grease job of the chassis, check and adjust air pressure in the tires, replace a broken link rod for the over-inflate valve on the rear suspension. I had to remove the waste tank and box and install a vent and a flush valve so that the tank would drain and clean out properly, I had to repair a water leak near the water pump for the sink and shower, I repaired several small air leaks, of which 1 still alludes my endeavor. there was a lot of work to do and relatively little time to get it finished. The challenge was there and the mission was accomplished...just in time to go for a great steak before we left the house to head to Orlando and load for Dallas.

We were supposed to load for Las Vegas out of Orlando but the load for Vegas was freight light so we were redirected to the DFW terminal. We left Orlando at about 0400 EDT on the 9th and arrived in Irving at about 2300 the same day. Before we arrived at the DFW terminal, we were asked leave for Chicago at about midnight. We accepted the load and it was ready shortly after we arrived in Irving. After fueling and checking the truck over, we hooked the loaded trailer and performed the required pre-trip inspection and were off for the frozen tundra of Northern Illinois.

We traveled up U.S. 75 to U.s 69 then accessed I-44 east to St Louis where we got onto I-55 north. We had planned to stop in Springfield Illinois for a quick visit with the 912 group there but were asked to hustle to Chicago and take a load to Paw Paw, MI to relay with another truck from Detroit and return to Chicago with his empty trailer. No time to stop. We arrived in Chicago about 1615 EDT on Sunday afternoon and 10 minutes later the load for Paw Paw canceled. Good thing actually though. The water was frozen to the shower and I had a broken water line connector that had to be fixed. The temperature was down to -5 degrees at one point and was only 2 degrees in Chicago when we got there so I understand the freeze.

I used a blow dryer, shshshshshshshsh, don't tell Tina, to thaw the line and had a connector to patch the broken water line. We decided to leave the water dripping overnight so that I could stay warm the next day and not have to be in the cold weather working on frozen water lines.

since the water lines were okay, I decided to be in the cold anyway and took about a 2.25 mile walk, 5 times around the terminal, in the 18 degree weather. I figured we were in a warming faze, I mean really, from -5 to +18, so what the heck, get some exercise. Global warming my butt. I busted my rump, twice, on Al Gore's Glacial thaw.

We were dispatched to Los Angeles from Chicago but the LAX load wasn't to be ready until 0200 on the 12th(today). Our load was actually ready about 0130 and we left about 0200. We were routed down to I-40 west out of Chicago to LAX to keep us out of any real chance of terrible, load delaying weather. We again traveled down I-55 south to St Louis and now we are on I-44 in Missouri. We are currently near Springfield, Mo. We will run I-44 west to Oklahoma City, OK then I-40 to Barstow, CA and I-15 south to the L.A. area. We should be at the LAX terminal by about 1500 EDT on Wednesday. At this point we have no dispatch out of LAX.

Hey, don't forget Tina's Scream-n-Fling Dolls. Just in time for a new political year and changing of the guard. They are available now at Conservabid.com at the bargain price of $6.95 as an introductory offer and that even includes shipping to the continental United States of America. Check out the video.

Just a Quick Note

Just thought I'd better write a quick note to let those of you who check back often, as I have asked you to do, that I haven't deserted the site. We have been very busy the last week or so. As a matter of fact, since I last posted here, we have driven about 10,950 miles. Here is what the map looks like.

This started in Atlanta, Ga and went to Sterling Va, then to Newqrk NJ, orlando FL, Las Vegas NV, Salt Lake City UT, Groveport OH, Irving TX one day off for Thanksgiving dinner and much needed rest, then on to El Paso TX, Groveport OH and now we are on our way to Medley FL which is in the Miami area. We are to be there in the morning to deliver and then our destination is unknown. I am hoping we can head back to Las Vegas though.

We are looking very much forward to some time off in December. We will be taking off from the 19th until sometime in January. Until I can post more details of our past few days, this should give you an idea of where we've been and why we haven't been posting here or at Stop the Destruction of America.

More Later.

11/10/09 Location Update

First...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MARINES, ALL PAST AND PRESENT. NOT THAT ANYTHING I COULD SAY HERE WOULD MATTER A HILL OF BEANS TO YOU, BUT YOU HAVE MY UTMOST SUPPORT IN YOUR EVERY MISSION AND THANKS FOR YOUR EVERY MINUTE OF SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. LASTLY, I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE FOR OUR PRESIDENT WHO SEEMS TO BE WORKING TO DESTROY EVERYTHING FOR WHICH YOU ALL HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED. MY HEART HURTS, FOR YOU AND THE GRIEF YOU MUST ENDURE WATCHING THIS HAPPEN TO OUR COUNTRY. INCIDENTALLY, THIS THANKS AND SUPPORT GOES TO EVERY MEMBER OF THE THE MILITARY, PAST, CURRENT AND FUTURE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

We had an interesting day in Vegas yesterday. I was sitting in the truck, working on some paperwork and looked out the window. When I did, I seen 2 Police Officers, taking pictures of the truck. I thought, uh oh. I got out of the truck and started talking to them only to find out that they loved the truck, the mission, and the design on the truck. We talked for a few minutes while they got some pictures, I asked them if they cared to sign the truck and they did. I also got some pictures of them during the signing and asked if it would be alright to post them and they said it would be okay. Later in the day though, one of the officers called me and asked if I would forgo publishing the pictures to the site, though they support our mission and everything we are doing, they shouldn't have their picture posted online unless in an official capacity. I chose to comply with the request and NOT post their photos. I do, however,
cherish their support and the photos I have will be prominently displayed in my office at the house. I thank them for their work and their service to our country.

We finally left Las Vegas about 073- this morning. The load was about 4 1/2 hours late. That really is about normal for this facility though. They are very busy here but running the warehouse on a shoestring budget to keep costs in line. This is really a very conservative company. They pay as they go. An all cash company. I like that about them, no debt means no money woes in most cases, and if they have no money woes, that means they can keep paying me and I have no money woes either.

Anyway, we traveled down 93 to 95 and 163 to 68 and back over to 93 as to bypass Hoover Dam. From there we went south to I-40 and are now very close to Albuquerque NM on I-40. We plan on one stop between here Vegas and Columbus OH for fuel. We hope to make it to Tucumcari NM for that stop.

We should be in Tucumcari by about 2030 this evening and then in Columbus OH at approximately 1900 on Wednesday evening.

On Our Way, to Carson(LAX), CA From Chicago(ORD)

Much has happened since y last post and I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for have not kept you posted on the details of our movements. We went back to Chicago from Kansas City, Mo and then to Columbus OH and back to Chicago IL again. We are currently on our way to Carson Ca and will be traveling I80, I-76, I-70, I-15 and into LAX on 210 west, 605 south and 91 west. We are set to deliver on Sunday evening about 0100 am EDT.

We met with the organizer of the Chicago "We Surround Them", Lynn in the parking lot at Target on Manheim and Touhy ave. Lynn is a great patriot. I spent about 30 minutes or so talking to a passer by about the 9-12 project and what it is all about, I gave him a lot of information, and a pocket constitution. I didn't have a "Common Sense" book by Glenn Beck to give him but I now will be able to buy some thanks to Lynns generosity and the generosity of Michael the other day in Gretna, NE.

We are getting very excited about our trip to D.C. on the 12th of September for the taxpayer Revolt on D.C... We have secured a parking place, with the fantastic and determined help of a Patriot in D.C. by the name of Bob Northrop. Bob worked diligently to acquire permission from the operators of the parking lots at the RFK stadium. We have been given permission to park in lot 3 for two days and are very thankful to the team that runs the parking in that area.

Traffic has been relatively light today considering that it is a holiday weekend. I expect that as time passes though it will get somewhat worse.

We have also been able to gain access to a "FLIP" video recorder and will be, in the future, videoing some of our meetings and fuel stops and posting those videos here. Please understand though, this will be our first attempt at videoing anything and we have never operated one of these cameras before or the software that is used to edit and upload to the site. We just ask that you be patient as we learn. Tina is a quick study, me however...not so much.

In closing, we hope that you can find it in your budget to help with a small purchase or a donation in support of our mission.

Travel Update for 09/01 Carson(LAX) to Chicago(ORD)

We fueled at about 1245-100 edt in Barstow at the flying J Truck Stop. Left there at about 1:10 and we are now headed north on I-15. We will stay on I-15 through Las Vegas, NV and Into UT to I-70 east. From there we will head towards Denver, Co. We should be in Denver around 8:00 am EDT in the morning on Wednesday and that will just be a pass through(no stop) unless other arrangements are made prior to our arrival there. We will access I-76 in Denver and head North East on I-76 towards North Platte Ne. This is where our next planned stop is for fuel. We probably won't be there more than about 15 minutes or so unless other arrangements are made prior to our arrival. From there it is off to Chicago. No other planned stops. You can contact me via email if you have a special stop request for a short meet up or group picture with the truck.

Been Sitting in L.A. for 2 days, Moving to Chicago in the Morning

As you know, we arrived in LAX on Sunday afternoon and got some much needed rest. We sat here all day Sunday and again all day Monday and likely all night Monday night. We did get a call from dispatch a bit ago and accepted a load to Chicago, IL. That load doesn't leave until Tuesday morning at about 0600 EDT, if it is on time.

We will travel, much to my dismay, North on I-15, through Las Vegas and into Utah, then East on I-70 to Denver, CO. From there we will access I-76 and follow that into Nebraska where I-80 will take us into Illinois. Shortly after entering Illinois we will get onto I-88 and follow that to our terminal in Chicago.

We will stop in Barstow, Ca for fuel and then the next planned stop will be in North Platte NE, again for fuel.

Really, the only reason I said, "much to my dismay" at the beginning of this post about traveling through Denver is that I-70, west of Denver, co has got to be my least favorite section of highway to drive, anywhere is the U.S.. It is truly a beautiful section of road and unbelievable scenery but is just a pain to drive.
Oh well, we have a job to do and that will be the direction of our travel. I hope to see some of yo along the way. Be sure and give a wave if you happen to see the 912 Truck/America's Alarm Clock in you daily travels.

Back to LAX Tonight.

First of all, I'd like to thank my good friend at AnnieOakley.com, Thepalination.com, and ConservaBid.com for the amazing work and time she has invested in the new banner for my blog. This young lady does some amazing work and is very talented at what she does. Be sure and visit her sites and patronize as you can. We, as conservatives, need to support one another in any way we can, at every opportunity that arises.

Man was it good to sleep all night, without the truck running, bouncing down the highway. Well, now enough of that. We received a call from dispatch a bit ago. We were offered, and accepted, a load right straight back to Carson, CA(LAX). The load is to be ready at about 1100 pm tonight and they are usually pretty much on time out of this facility. For those of you that follow this blog, you can reverse my last route, LAX to ATL and that will be the route. As for stopping points for fuel, not sure at this point, but I will post those stops when we get moving. I am guessing thou, the first stop will be in Olive Branch, MS and then either OK City, OK or Tucumcari, NM. We should be in LAX at about noon or so(Eastern Time) on Sunday.

We have launched into a couple of apparel stores so that all can show their support of our mission, and the 912 Project. Click here to show your support, or go to www.printfection.com/912truck. Leaving For Albuquerque Tonight

Took a call from dispatch a little bit ago, while we were walking around the truck show at the Dallas Convention Center, and all they had was a load to Albuquerque, NM. Obviously, after sitting since yesterday, we took the load and will be leaving our DFW terminal at about 7:00 pm eastern time this evening.

We will travel Hwy 287 north to Amarillo, TX where we will get onto I-40 west right on to Albuquerque, NM.

We have all kinds of time to get there if we want to take it but we will probably just head that way and should arrive there in the morning, that is Friday morning.

We had a great time at the truck show today. We got there a littler early, 10:00 and it didn't open to the public until 1200. That was alright, we sat around, talked, and just enjoyed people watching. They had a Johnny Cash impersonator in the lobby so we sat and watched him and listened to the music. We went in about 1200 and, wow, what a show. Lots of vendors, and a whole bunch of show quality trucks in the Pride and Polish Truck Show. I'll be posting some pictures later, just don't have time right now before we have to leave here for Albuquerque.

08/06, Martinsville, VA bound

As we arrived at the Miami terminal this morning at about 0815, we received a message from dispatch, apologizing for last night's load cancellation and offering us a load to Martinsville, VA, then to Los Angeles, CA. Needless to say, we gladly, accepted the load, if for no other reason to get the heck out of Florida. This place sucks for freight this time of year.

The load to Martinsville will leave at about 6:00 pm tonight out of Miami and deliver in Martinsville by Saturday morning. From there, we will run an empty trailer to Charlotte, NC and our load to Los Angeles will leave from there on Saturday evening or real early Sunday morning.

Major cities to Martinsville, VA will be Jacksonville, Fl, Savanah, GA, Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, Winston Salem, NC and Finally Martinsville, VA. From there it is back to Charlotte, NC for a bit of a wait.

When our load to Los Angeles is ready, Whatever time that might be, we will travel through Asheville, NC to Knoxville, TN, Nashville, TN, Memphis, TN, Little Rock, AR, Oklahoma City OK, Amarillo TX, Tucumcari NM, Albuquerqui NM, Flagstaff AZ, Barstow CA, then on into LA or actually Carson, CA.

I will certainly update times and stops as information is available. I do know that there are a lot of readers of these posts along that route, we'd love to see some of you along the way and get you all to sign the truck to show your support.

Check back here and follow us on twitter for updates.

Travel Info for 07/31

We received a dispatch to Miami, Fl this morning at about 0530. We left the Groveport terminal at 0600 and headed down hwy 33 in Ohio to Ravenswood, WV where we accessed I-77 south to Columbia, SC where we will travel I-26 east to I-95 south into Florida and on to Miami. We are scheduled to be in Miami by 0200 on Saturday am. We will be stopping in Rock Hill, SC for fuel and then no further plans for stopping until our arrival in Miami.

There is supposed to be a load waiting for us or to be ready shortly after our arrival in Miami. That load will take us to El Paso, TX. We will travel up I-95 to u.s. 60 to the Florida turnpike in Yee Haw Junction, FL. We will travel the Turnpike to I-75 in Wildwood FL the to I-10 west out of Florida. 07/28 update, Columbus, OH Bound

We received a call from dispatch at about 3:15 this morning and asked if we could make a run to Columbus, OH today. We assured them that we'd be happy to do that so they gave us that dispatch.

We were told that the load would be ready about 9:00 am but at the time of this post, 9:35 am, we have not received notice that it is ready.

When we leave here, we will be traveling on I-15 to Barstow, CA, then I-40 through Needles, CA, Kingman, AZ, Flagstaff, AZ, Grants, NM, Albuquerqui, NM, Tucumcari, NM, Amarillo, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, then I-44 through Joplin, MO, to St. Louis, MO, then I-70 Indianapolis, IN and on to Columbus, OH. Actually, our terminal is in Groveport, OH which is the south sside of Columbus.

Since we aren't sure at this point when the load will be ready, I'll not be able to estimate city pass through times. I will update this page when I can give the itinerary for the cities we will be traveling through.

Please feel free to make a contribution here if you like our mission. You can use any of the "donate" buttons on this page to contribute to the cause. And to our bail. LOL

We're Back In Carson Now, 7/27

Well, we turned around and we are now back in Carson, CA. We had a headlight out and got pulled over in Arizona last night for that. No ticket, just a warning citation.

we had to drive all the way out to Fontana, CA, about 54 miles to get a headlight bulb today. Came back to Carson, installed the bulb and have been just kinda veging since then.

A Very Trying Weekend...And Monday Too!!

First, again, I apologize for having not posted again for quite some time. I am very sorry. What I have realized is that the logistics of posting every move or change in a move is very difficult. I am in the process of teaching my wife to post here as well though so it should get somewhat easier to keep up with us as time passes.

Now, for our weekend. We left Carson, CA at about 0900 on Saturday morning, headed for Kansas City, Mo, as indicated in my last post. Before we got out of Arizona we were asked to detour to Weatherford, OK to meet another team and switch loads/trailers with them. They live in Kansas City and needed to get home so it wasn't a problem. We would take their trailer/load on to Carson, CA, and they would take ours to Kansas City, MO. We hit some terrible weather around Winslow, AZ. As a matter of fact my wife was able to get a picture of a tornado that was touching down just north of the interstate just before we drove in to it. WOW, what a ride. Here is the picture she was able to get.

I ended up meeting up with my old friend at Holbrook, AZ, he had just bought a new truck and wanted me to see it, a very nice ride. We visited for about 30 minutes or so and took off. He and his wife and grandson was going the same direction so they decided to follow us and we visited on the C.B. Radio as we drove. We were just riding along, visiting, having a great time and a police officer passed me,(a New Mexico State Police Officer), like I was sitting still, with his lights on. He got about 4-6 car lengths ahead of me in the left lane and slammed on his brakes, shut of his red lights and as I went passed him he jumped in behind me. I drove on, about 1/2 mile or so, and he was tailing me very closely, with the left side of his car just to the outside of the left side of my truck. I think, though he says it isn't true, that he still had his headlights flashing, so I pulled over to the shoulder of the road. I immediately climbed from the cab, walked to the rear of my trailer, where he met me, and he asked if I was alright. I stated I was fine and he instructed me to stand at the rear of my trailer, and again asked was I sure that I was alright because he had a call that someone in a truck with a flag on it ran two cars off the road back at about the 75 mile post. We were at this point at the 98 mile post. Remember now, my friend, his wife and grandchild were following me, within about 200 yards or so, until I pulled over. He was on his radio talking to dispatch and then asked for my driver's license. I went to the truck, officer Hammond of the New Mexico State Police, in tow and got my driver's license for him. He then proceeded to ask for my log book as well and again, with officer Hammond, of the New Mexico State Police following my every footstep, I retrieved my log book. He asked if there was anyone else in the truck and I informed him my wife was in the bunk. He asked if that was the only person and if I was sure there was no-one else in there. I again, assured him, we were the only two folks in the truck. The officer continued questioning me in generalities, about where we picked the trailer up, where we were headed, what we were hauling, etc., he then asked if he could "pat me down" and told me to place my hands on the back of the trailer. About this time another officer, Seargent Troy(I later learned), of the New Mexico State Police had pulled up, lights flashing, and officer Hammond went to his car to speak with him. Officer, oops, Seargent Troy, they are very touchy about their titles, got out of his car and walked over to me and officer Hammond went to get my wife out of the truck. Seargent Troy asked me if Officer Hammond had told me what was going on, and I told him the yes, Officer Hammond had told me that he had a report of me running two cars off the road, but that I knew that that hadn't happened and he proceeded to tell me that we were pulling a "stolen trailer". He said that they were just waiting on their people to confirm with our company that it was no longer a stolen unit and we would be on our way.

Just a a side note, I'll explain something here. While I won't say who we are leased to, I will say this. The name of the company we are leased to is on both sides,of the trailer in 8' lettering, on the rear in 1' lettering and the nose of the trailer in 8" lettering. The name of the company is also on our truck, in 4" letters on both sides, along with the company D.O.T. number. In our truck, there is a permit book with the company name on every single piece of paper in the book, which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 pieces of paper in the form of official, state issued permits, listing the D.O.T. number and the name of the company on each. Also in the permit book, is a lease, listing company name, D.O.T. Number, address, telephone number, our truck number, the vehicle ID number for the truck and the vehicle truck Number that the company issues at the time of lease to each truck, and it is a truck specific number meaning that each truck has a different number. The lease is signed and dated by both myself and my wife. The signatures on the lease match both mine and my wife's signatures on our driver's licenses. The license plates on the truck are the same that are listed on the registration, listing myself and my wife as owners and the company to which we are leased as lessee. That would be the same company who's name is on the side of the trailer. The trailer, in the New Mexico State Police's own computer system, comes back as being registered to the company we are leased to and who's name is on the side of the trailer. The plates on the trailer match the registration that is in the trailer which shows registration to the company to which we are leased. There is a trailer number, on the trailer, both front and rear in 6" letters, again a trailer specific number, which matches the trailer on the registration and the Vehicle ID number on the registration matches the Vehicle ID number stamped in a plate, attached with special rivets to the nose of the trailer. Upon calling the company, they told the officers that it was their trailer. Are you getting the point here? All the numbers match all the vehicles, that match all the registrations, that match all the leases and permits, that match the driver's whose names are on the driver's license along with matching pictures. I mean...I'm jsut sayin'. Can you add two and two? New Mexico State Police Seargent Troy and officer Hammond, obviously can't. Anyway, I digress, back to the story now.

At this point they told me to walk down the sandy hill about 50 feet or so and stand by the fence. Whatever, I complied, as directed, and they started questioning my wife. By now, 3 more police officers with the New Mexico State Police, have pulled up with lights flashing and they all convene near one of the squad cars. After a few minutes of conversation, two of the officers headed for the cab of the truck, two stood around talking and another was again questioning my wife, who by this time is in tears. The two who headed for the truck, proceeded to stop and read the side of the truck, as much as they know how to read, which I contend, that by their ability to add 2 + 2 and figure out the trailer isn't stolen, they can't read much. After a brief stop at the side of the truck and putting their hands all over it, one of the officers climbed in, uninvited and without asking I might add, went to the back into the sleeper and was there about 2-3 minutes. The other officer was rifling through the paperwork on the dash. I had on the dash, my bills of lading along with 10, 9-12 pamphlets and 912 taxpayer revolt flyers, a picture of the truck, and a copy of the "First They Came For..." poem that I have on the side of the truck. Those things are all 1 short now plus no poem. I still have the picture of the truck. They eventually exited the truck and went back to the other group of officers who were gathered around my wife interrogating her. Now one officer comes and gets me, and I joked to him, hey, why is it that I have to walk in the sand with my good boots and clean britches on and when you want to talk to me you hollar and ask me to come to you instead of walking to me in the sand? His remark was, that's why I carry a gun, so when I use my voice, people jump, and he smiled at me. He had me stand against his squad car where he also stood, making small talk about the weather, mosquitoes, the police academy, and whatever he could think of to talk about. The other officers were still aggressively interrogating my terrified, crying wife. After about 2 hours, Officer Troy came to me and told me that the company had verified it was a stolen trailer and that we were going to be placed in "investigative detention" until the matter could be resolved. They allowed us to get a few things out of the truck, so I grabbed my phone and a bottle of water. After about 3-4 minutes of explaining to them about all the numbers matching, all the names matching and all the registrations matching, I called my dispatch office and they wanted to talk to the Seargent, who refused to speak with them. They cuffed me, and frisked me again,(which I was told wasn't called frisking but "patting down"). I was approached by another of the officers. He called himself an "inspector", and he stated he had some questions for me and I told him if I was under arrest, I was done talking. That pissed this little bald headed, Hitleresque fella off. He said "so you aren't going to cooperate?" I stated I had been cooperative up to the point that I was placed under arrest and I was talking no more. Man, did he get mad. He made sure that I knew that I hadn't cooperated with him because I hadn't even met or talked to him yet and again, I advised the fellow that I had nothing else to say. They stuffed me in the rear of the squad car, shut the door, and all converged around my wife again. Now a tow truck pulls up, gets in front of my truck and the driver comes back to talk to the officers. One of the officers walked back up front with him, three of them are harassing, unrelentingly, my wife for some further information that they thought we were hiding, and the 5th officer was in the front seat of the squad car that I was in. They would talk to her for a minute or two, then come back and harass me, then back to her and so on. Now, someone had decided that they needed to see the inside of the trailer to check for...whatever. The trailer had a hardened bolt seal installed, in Carson at our terminal, before I picked the trailer up. Mind you too, the number on the bolt seal, matched the number on the bills of lading, that had the city of origin, city of delivery, and the company name and address on the bills. More proof, we weren't lying. Anyway, the tow truck driver, being quite the brain surgeon, though a rather lumpy, hairy, dirty one, went to his truck and obtained a hammer and a chisel to cut the bolt seal off. He beat the hell out of the back of the trailer, I told them that they needed bolt cutters to cut the seal. I later found out that my wife had told them the same thing, but he continued to beat the hell out of the trailer. I told them I had a pair of bolt cutters and they asked where they were but I decided to refuse to tell them. One of the other officers, the bald, Hitler like guy, went to his pickup truck and got a pair and they cut the seal off. Of course, they found nothing but a load of miscellaneous freight, but none the less, they showed us, and the bolt seal who was boss.

Another note of interest here is that the little Hitler like guy, for some reason, felt the need to assure me and my wife that he was "just trying to help us". I again went through all the numbers matching, and all and that i understood that they weren't allowed to think for them selves but rather had to do as told so let's just move on though the steps here. Again, that didn't make them happy. I was told I was a jerk, by the bald guy. I told him, "I know I'm a jerk, I don't want to be a jerk but that I was in the back of a police car, in hand cuffs for the first time in my life, for something I didn't do and that with a little thought could be proved that the trailer wasn't stolen. I proceeded to state that I didn't think the whole ordeal had anything to do with the trailer but rather a check of us, our demeanor, and or truck to make sure we weren't some of the ones the D.H.S. report from a few months back had told police departments to be on the lookout for. His reply was simply, "that's ridiculous", mine, "is it now". He then stated he liked what was on the truck and that he had read some of it. I looked puzzled, right square into his eyes and said inquisitively, "you can read?" He slammed the door, where I was sitting and walked off.

After another 15-20 minutes or so of deteriorating attitudes of both myself and my wife, who by now is crying, no balling her eyes out, the tow truck driver decided he wasn't smart enough to tow the truck without damage(which I decided when he got out of the truck the first time), so they made a group decision to let my wife drive the truck to the impound yard while they escorted us, front and rear. I wasn't allowed to drive, I guess I was going to use all that sleek, high speed power and uncanny ability to elude the police officers. So we headed for the impound yard, back west about 22 miles, where she parked the truck and we were taken inside to sit and wait out the paperwork clearance for the "stolen trailer".

There were a few other officers in the building and one of them seemed to keep going outside, coming back in, asking questions about the truck, he'd sit down and write a bit, go outside again, come back inside and call Officer Hammond to the back, come back write some more, and finally about 1 hour later we were released, with apology.

Lastly, I have left some facts out of this post, though few. All, and I mean all, pertinent facts are here, with no embellishment. This was truly the most horrible, demeaning, belittling, demoralizing experience of our lives. I guess I have never felt as helpless in my life as I did when I was sitting cuffed, in the back of that squad car, while watching them demoralize and verbally harass my wife. I realize that police officers have a job to do, I realize that it is one of the toughest jobs in the United States. I further understand that they must protect themselves and the public. My question though, is this, after seeing all the paperwork, hearing me explain, twice, all the numbers matching on everything right down to the seal on the trailer, after ransacking our truck, stealing a 912 project flyer, 912 taxpayer revolt flyer, and a copy of the poem on the side of m truck, after cuffing me, obviously for the intimidation factor, why is it that there was no report number given to me, no citations, no inspection report on log books or vehicle safety, or anything else that would prove that we sat on the side of the road, being harassed by the New Mexico State Police, for 31/2 hours, and released, according to the seargent, without cause. What the Hell is that? I can't even prove we were there.

I understand now, to some extent, how professor Gates felt that he was being harassed, and I also see the officers side of having to protect themselves. Somewhere though, there must be a middle ground.

Appology for having NOT posted in over 24 hours

I realize I promised to update you on our travels anytime new information was available. I am very sorry for the last 24 hours. We have discovered that there are some out here who don't like our message...The New Mexico State Police seem to be among that group.

I will, I promise, update you at a later time today but suffice to say that it has been a very rough last 12 hours.

Won't you please afford me the time to rest and revive my pea little truck driver brain and I will update you later this evening on the "rest of the story".

Update 07/22...6:30 pm Eastern time

We stopped in Albuquerqui, NM at about 5:00 pm, fueled and took off again at approximately 5:15 pm. We are headed for Carson, CA, (Los Angeles) area and will be traveling I-40 to Barstow, then I-15 south to 210 west right on into town. We should be in Flagstaff, AZ at about 10-10:30 pm tonight, then Carson by about 0700 Thursday morning.

So far the trip has been fairly uneventful. A few waves and thumbs up, a couple of questions at our fuel stops and I have hung some fliers for the www.912dc.org taxpayer revolt in D.C. on Sept. 12. Otherwise, not much to add, but some dialogue has been opened.

I find it somewhat funny that you can see many people looking and reading the sides of the truck as they pass us on the road but as soon as we let them know that we know they are looking, they either turn away or give us a thumbs up or a wave. My point is that they won't initiate the positive response unless they know you are watching them. My thought is that that looms from many years of being marginalized in their views or shouted down FOR them. JMHO

Please keep an eye out for us and if you see us wave, shout, scream, thumbs up, blow your horn, do whatever it takes to get our attention. If you like our message and the mission we are on, the one of trying to awaken the masses, please feel free to make a contribution to the cause by clicking on any of the "donate" buttons on this page or at http://stopthedestructionofamerica.blogspot.com.
